Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. Aaron, my roommate, has been banging this chick for the last week or so and it really annoys me. Here's why, and why it's my business.
Aaron has a girlfriend in Florida. She's really nice. She's visited once or twice. Aaron has this strange stranglehold over her (example - she wants to go out and eat at Taco Time 'cause she has a hankering for it, but Aaron makes her go to Subway, where he eats 24/7). Granted, she's young, but it's ridiculous.
So anyway, Aaron's banging this other girl and it annoys me since (1) I'm friends with his girlfriend, and (2) he hasn't the decency to tell her. Now, you may say it's none of my business, but I would say it's my business to the point that I no longer have any respect for him. By lying, he's asking me to lie to. If it comes down to it though, I won't. If she asks me, I'll tell her straight out. However, I would still say that it's a lie of omission for me to keep this information from her. What to do, what to do.
And it's not just that. Aaron smokes out with me (yes, I smoke weed sometimes). I'm open about it, but Aaron keeps it from her. I can understand this just fine normally, but he smoked out with me while she was here. I would have thought that he would have the courage to tell his own girlfriend that he tried it, but he was to chicken. Chicken is too nice of a word. More like pussy.
Finally, I also learn from him (and he never comes straight out and says anything, but he hints around it ad nauseum) that he is a virgin (at least before this other girl anyway), making the first situation above all that more complex. Why he tries to hide this fact is beyond me; I was under the impression that being a virgin could be considered cool by the popular crowd these days. It seems sophomoric if you ask me.
Okay, so post-finally, I'm watching this movie with him and the guy in the movie says something to the tune of "I would marry no matter what you looked like". Aaron then says "yeah, right, like anyone would marry someone without regard to how they looked." Bzzzzzt. Wrong answer. That makes him not only sophomoric and disrespectful, but also shallow.
Well, enuf said. Sorry for not writing, I've been busy at work. I assure you, however, that I'm still here, and this BLOG will live on.
